I have always loved drawing and painting and the magic that can be created with a simple mark and an infinity of colours. I am drawn to capture the playful effects of sunlight and its affect on colours and atmosphere within a scene.

 
The subject matter of my paintings jumps between vast sweeping landscapes, mysterious woodlands, to quiet still life's and intimate groups of figures. Whether painting in nature or in my studio I allow exploration and intuition to lead me, embracing unexpected discoveries as they emerge on the surface.

 

Ultimately I seek to create uplifting paintings that evoke a sense of optimism and calm, to capture moments of joy and tranquillity, creating paintings that lift the spirit, trigger memories and offer a peaceful respite from the everyday world.
